Colleagues come together to #BreakTheBias

William Hill colleagues participated in another inspiring International Women’s Day, with virtual and in-person events across our UK and international offices. The hubs in London and Leeds were buzzing with activity, and for the first year we were able to live stream the IWD celebrations to our retail colleagues, who joined via regional hubs around the UK.

Chief Executive Officer, Ulrik Bengtsson spent the day in Birmingham catching up some of our shop colleagues.

Ulrik said: "I was delighted to spend this year’s IWD in Birmingham in a few of our shops, with some of the women that make up 57% of our retail workforce. Today was an opportunity to celebrate the great work they, and all of the women across our business do, and how crucial they are to our success."

Chief Brand Officer, Charlotte Emery sponsored and hosted the event from our London office. When asked what International Women’s Day means to her, Charlotte said: "This is an opportunity for us to stop and think about where we on this journey to gender equality, what our ambition is and what we are going to do to get there. We want this day to be meaningful to our colleagues and for proactive conversations to be had on this day but also going forward. We have already made so many amazing developments towards gender equality at William Hill, however there is always more that can be done."

Special thanks to our keynote speaker Janet Tarasofsky for sharing insights into how we can #BreakTheBias and to our William Hill panel Christine Stoddart, Dani Jackson, Garry Fenton, and Lesley Walkinshaw.
